Somewhere, there is a good fairy walking around collecting reasons for the Philadelphia Flyers to be banned from hockey for a full season. Whether she ever appears, or whether Gary Bettman would know a good fairy from a hockey puck, is something we can only wonder about.
But there should be no question that her pockets are full.
The NHL suspended Flyers winger Scott Hartnell for two games for his hit on Bruins defenseman Andrew Alberts.
Hartnell was given a 5-minute boarding penalty and a game misconduct for hitting defenseman Alberts at 14:22 of the second period during Boston's 6-3 win Monday night in Philadelphia. Andrews left the game with an unspecified head injury and will be evaluated on Tuesday.
